Energy cells, often referred to simply as Cells, are a means for storing high amounts of energy in a convenient, mobile package. While the benefits of such energy systems are obvious in all fields, energy cells are best known for their military applications in powering advanced energy weapons such as Plasma Rifles and Hyperblasters.
The first energy cells were simple electrochemical batteries. Their first known use as military ammunition dates back to World War II when the engineers of Nazi Germany developed the top secret experimental weapon, Tesla Gun, one of the first energy weapons in history. Since then energy cells of various types have slowly found their ways into military arsenals around the world, and entered mass production.
